Turbine cases and other products

Turbine machining at IQM stands out by the advanced technical expertise and attention to detail. We are proud to contribute to our customers’ success by offering these special processes. Finally, our commitment to quality and innovation leads us to constantly seek innovative technological solutions.

Turbine Machining Process:

  • Precision machining: The production process begins with unmachined turbine case casting. The turbine cases then undergo precision machining by numerically controlled (CNC) machines, such as milling, drilling and reaming.
  • Specialised processes: turbine cases may require specialised machining, machining of contact surfaces or machining of cooling channels.
  • Quality control: To meet the high standards, each turbine undergoes strict quality control with regard to dimensions, surface finish, geometry and balance.
  • Surface finish: The surface finish of turbines is essential to ensure perfect efficiency and metal resistance to high pressure.
  • Assembly and testing: IQM’s experts provide services for assembling components and testing them for tightness.
  • Packaging and delivery: The turbine cases are packed and delivered to customers, and are ready to be integrated into their applications, such as aircraft engines or power plants.
